In Art Coco’s workshop the skills of local crafts people are married with the training and experience of Sarah Gavaghan, a qualified artist and formerly a highly successful designer and manufacturer of fashion-world hats in New York.
Sarah’s skills are augmented by those of her partner Nigel Spencer, whose artistic background and lifelong residence in Mombasa provide vital support.
Art Coco is an exciting venture for Nigel and Sarah and they bring to it not only their enthusiasm for the natural material they work with but also a desire to expand their markets, particularly internationally, and so continue to provide income and opportunity for the craftspeople of their home area.
